Botter sailing

With 12 - 15 people per boat, sailing on an antique Zuiderzee botter is an experience in itself. Hoisting sails, pulling swords, setting a course and holding the tiller are the ingredients for an enjoyable afternoon. Botters fished on the former Zuiderzee and are considered by connoisseurs to be fast sailors and one of the most elegant Dutch fishing vessels. The botter was also used for coastal fishing in the North Sea and the present-day Wadden Sea. The type originated in the first half of the 19th century. Renting a botter is the ideal mix between nostalgia and sportsmanship. Very suitable as a company outing, but also for groups wishing to celebrate a bachelor party in a sporty way.
